Only drawback is that the maps are from '06 and don't think it's worthwhile to upgrade the maps as I've read that it isn't much of an improvement. Initial signal acquisition may be a little slow in certain locations but is easily enhanced by getting an external antenna (under $17). from the turn) Once you realize this anomoly, it's not a problem. I downloaded a free program from a forum site that enabled the unit to have full compliment of games, utilities, and useful programs. GPS works ok, not exceptional but very acceptable.
I loaded a 2GB SD card with the programs and my favorite mp3 songs and still have a lot of free space available. Screen is very bright with nice colors. One note, the voice direction is off for the 300 yds or less as it announces the yardage a little late (for example it would say turn left in 100 yds. Just got a used one for under $40. when in actuality you're only 50 yds.
The BEST thing about Mio is that it is easily hacked to be a full function Windows based PDA, music and video player.
The GPS is well worth the money. Yep, mine went with her. Must say, Mio has a hard time working on the Big Island of Hawaii. Gave one to my girlfriend and kept one. I say buy it. I bought another one for me.
IF it had Text to Speech, it would be the ideal GPS. Bought 2 on Black Friday just for the toy affect. Then along came my gear-jamming daughter with her Atlas. Simple to use and has the MP3 to use while running in the wind.
I've got the product. It works great, but unfortunately I didn't get the DVD and the original box, as described in product ad.
SO BAD.I give it 1 star - it works somewhat ok Last but not least, I put a 4 GB memory stick with MP3s on it and it does not allow sorting by folder. The maps are from a European based company and are not as up to date as Navteq. UNBELIEVABLE. You get what you pay for they say: With the Mio C310x that is what you get. clumsy menus and the issue many are talking about: The voice is off by 100 yards which is not only confusing but DANGEROUS when driving because you constantly have to compare the voice to the display. so you are stuck scrolling through 1000 songs.
All in all, it's a great product that I would recommend. Cold Eyes It allows you to set wave points. All the maps are in its own memory (1 gig internal). Its maps are upgradable at a reasonable price. I like this GPS because it has all the features I need. It's really compact, very portable, can play music through the SD card slot. Though I don't care much for the mount because it's bulky and it has limited freedom to move it.
